You can have a good photo or a favourite piece of artwork printed and hung on your wall. We print photos, artwork, illustrations and designs made of words and quotes. We print on canvas or fine art paper. Then we stretch the canvas over a frame, or put the print in a frame, so it is ready to hang. Our canvas and fine art work includes a painted portrait on canvas, a set of signed landscape photographs, a large framed print of a white horse and bright abstract canvases for an office.

Canvas or fine art paper

Canvas is a woven fabric with a soft texture. It makes photos look a little like paintings. We stretch it over a wooden frame and it hangs without glass, so there is no glare.

Fine art paper is smooth or lightly textured. It shows the finest detail and the darkest tones. This suits black and white photos, illustrations and limited editions. Fine art prints are normally framed behind glass or acrylic to protect the surface.

Choosing the right image

A bigger print needs a file with more detail. Photos from a good camera or a recent phone usually print well at a good size. Send the original file, not a copy from WhatsApp or social media. On a canvas, the edges of the picture fold around the sides of the frame, so keep faces and text away from the edges.

Prints for homes, offices, hotels and restaurants

Canvas and framed prints are a simple way to decorate a room. For example, you could hang a family photo above the couch, or a set of matching prints along a guest house passage. For a wide wall, we can split one picture across several canvases that hang side by side. A restaurant could hang photos of its own produce and local landscapes. In offices, framed prints and canvases add colour and can show a message.

01What is the difference between a canvas print and a fine art print?

We print a canvas print on canvas, a woven fabric, and stretch it over a wooden frame. It hangs without glass. We print a fine art print on heavy art paper, and it is usually framed behind glass or acrylic. Canvas has a soft texture, a little like a painting. Fine art paper shows the finest detail.

02Can I print a photo from my phone on canvas?

Often, yes. Recent phones take photos with enough detail for a good-sized canvas. Send the original file. Copies from WhatsApp or social media are compressed and lose detail. We check the file and tell you how large we can print it before it looks soft.

03Will any of my picture be lost around the edges of a canvas?

Yes, a strip at each edge goes onto the sides. A stretched canvas folds around the sides of its frame. Keep faces, text and the important parts of the picture away from the edges. We check the crop with you before we print.

04Can you frame my print?

Yes, we print and frame. Tell us the look you want, the room it is for, and if it should be behind glass. We will suggest framing options when we quote.

05Do you print for artists and photographers?

Yes. Send high-resolution files of your work and we print them to size on canvas or fine art paper. If you need exact colour for an edition or an exhibition, tell us at the start. We will explain how proofing works when we quote.
