Prints on canvas and fine art paper

The portrait shows an old man with long white hair, in a painted style, printed on canvas. A second print above it shows only his folded hands. Every strand of hair and every crease in the skin needs to print sharply, so the file must have plenty of detail.

The landscape photographs are printed on fine art paper with a white border. The photographer signed each print. They show snowy mountains, a misty lake and a sea arch. Another long print shows an autumn valley with orange trees under heavy grey clouds.

The elephant canvas is one picture split across five panels of different heights. The panels hang side by side with small gaps, so the picture covers a wide wall.

The largest framed print is a fine art print of a white horse. Its head and neck come out of a deep black background. The print has a white border and a pale timber frame. A black background is a good test of a print. The dark areas must stay rich and even, with no visible bands or stripes. The fine detail in the horse’s coat must also stay sharp.

In an office, a bright abstract canvas hangs on a pale wall. It has swirls of pink, green and yellow, and it is the only bright colour in a calm room. A canvas print is stretched over a wooden frame and needs no glass. This makes canvas a good choice for large pieces, and for rooms where reflections on glass would be a problem.

There is also a typographic print. It says “Think outside the box” in bold black brush lettering on white, in a black frame.

Choosing canvas or fine art paper

Canvas has a soft woven texture and looks like a painting in a gallery. Fine art paper is framed behind glass or acrylic. It shows finer detail, so it suits photographs and drawings. Both need a good file. Please send the original photograph or artwork. Do not send a copy from social media. We will check that your file will print well at the size you want.
