Panoramic murals: Table Mountain and a beach at sunset
Table Mountain across the bay covers the walls of a small room. A beach at sunset runs along a corridor, with the mountain on the end wall.
Two panoramic murals
In the smaller room, one panoramic picture runs around the walls. It shows Table Mountain across the bay, with dune grass in front. The horizon stays at the same height at each corner, so the picture looks like one continuous view. In the corridor, a beach at sunset runs along the side walls. Sand and grass are at the bottom, with a wide sky above. Table Mountain is on the end wall, so you see it as you walk down the corridor.
How we plan a panoramic mural
We plan a wraparound mural for the whole room at once. We scale the picture to the height of the room. We place the horizon at a comfortable eye level. We put the joins between drops where people will not notice them. Corners need the most work, because the horizon must stay level as the picture turns the corner.
Landscapes with a low horizon and a lot of sky suit rooms like these. They make a room with no windows, or a long corridor, look deeper. The light colours make a small room look more open.
If you have a small or dark room or passage, send us its measurements and a few photos. Our custom wallpaper and wall murals page explains how to measure a wall. It also explains what makes a good picture for printing at this size.
