Office refit: a printed ceiling and a wave wall graphic
A teal geometric pattern printed on the ceiling and a wave of fine lines along the walls of an open meeting and lounge area.
The printed ceiling and wave graphic
Above the meeting tables, we covered the ceiling panels in a deep teal print. The print has a white pattern of fine lines and dots, joined like a network. It marks out the meeting area from above, with no extra walls or partitions.
On the walls below, a wave of fine teal and grey lines runs behind the long bench seat. It continues into the lounge, rising and falling across the white walls. Both graphics use the same colours. The ceiling, the walls and the teal cushions on the bench look like one design.
Why print the ceiling
In an open-plan office, the ceiling is often the biggest empty surface in the room. Most people do not think of decorating it. A ceiling print changes the look of a room more than most things you can hang on a wall. It also leaves the walls free for screens or whiteboards.
Line graphics on the walls go well with a ceiling print. They add colour and a sense of movement. The lines are thin, so the room does not look busy when it is full of people.
